An Each Other Care Coronation Weekend Fit for Royalty
The flags were flying high across our Each Other Care homes last weekend. There was bunting and tea parties galore as we all celebrated the historic coronation of His Majesty the King and the Queen Consort.
Community is at the heart of what we do and it was marvellous to bring together team members, residents, and guests from all generations to mark this historic occasion together; it was truly a weekend to remember!
The Abbeys - Rotherham
The Abbeys kicked off the weekend in style with an extravagant party on Saturday. Residents had been excited in the run up the big day and decorated the home with colourful paper chains. Guests enjoyed a lavish buffet and music from local singer, Tanya Adele, as they joined residents to dance into the late afternoon. The Abbeys team member, Mike, really got into the royal spirit as he donned a bejewelled crown and cape!
Brierfield House – Nelson
Brierfield House hosted an afternoon of fun on Saturday with cake stalls, raffles, and tombola, alongside a plethora of sweet treats and drinks. Residents and team members worked hard to decorate the home with meters of bunting and flags, alongside putting together handmade hampers and other fabulous prizes.
Dunniwood Lodge – Doncaster
Dunniwood Lodge held a royal bonanza with an ice cream van, a very British afternoon tea party with Bucks Fizz for the grown-ups, and selection of classic cakes lovingly cooked by the in-house chefs. Friend and family came along to watch the momentous event together in the lounges. Residents also created a huge papier mache crown ahead of the weekend which was very much the star of the show!
Highfield Hall – Haslingden
Highfield Hall hosted a musical extravaganza on Bank Holiday Monday with themed bingo and live entertainment from local singer, Paul Scholes. Friends and families joined residents to celebrate the long weekend with a scrumptious buffet lunch and took part in the raffles and tombola with plenty of prizes being won, including drinks kindly donated from popular local business Fitzpatricks.
Ladyville Lodge – Upminster
Ladyville Lodge held not one, but two celebrations! Friday involved an afternoon of live music, with an equally impressive homemade feast to celebrate. On Saturday, residents, families, and team members waved their flags and enjoyed party food as they watched the live Coronation broadcast together.
White Ash Brook – Accrington
White Ash Brook was pleased to bring residents, friends, and family of all ages together for an afternoon of celebration to watch the historic coronation of His Majesty the King and the Queen Consort with a classic British afternoon tea party. They treated guests to a delicious, decadent selection of cakes, sandwiches, and other treats, creating a festive atmosphere to mark the momentous occasion. Residents also enjoyed an evening of cheese boards and wine to help keep the party going!
