Empowering Voices at White Ash Brook

At Each Other Care, we are committed to empowering those that choose to live and work with us. At White Ash Brook in Oswaldtwistle, we hold regular Committee Meetings to ensure that every voice is heard.

Residents gather in the lounge for their Committee Meeting every couple of months. Coming together over a cup of tea and biscuits a-plenty, they share positive experiences, offer feedback and suggest ways to enhance life within the home. Everyone’s contributions matter and by encouraging independence and autonomy, residents feel respected and able shape their own lives in this new chapter.

The meetings are led by an elected resident and we’re thrilled that Edward was recently voted as chair. He has so many thoughtful ideas and we can’t wait to see how he helps shape things around the home.

Home Manager Jo recently launched this initiative, gathering feedback after each meeting to share with the White Ash Brook community. These sessions not only celebrate our teams, with the resident-voted Extra Mile Award, but also create space for new ideas, from activities to menu suggestions, making sure everyone’s input helps shape life at White Ash Brook.

Our team members also come together regularly for their own Committee Meetings, where they share experiences and ideas, discussing ways to improve home. Led by Jo, these meetings give everyone a chance to speak up and connect. They help build strong relationships and create a warm, welcoming environment for both living and working, making our community a truly supportive and joyful place to be.

These Committee Meetings create a home filled with genuine connections, open conversations and a shared commitment to being there for one another. They help our home feel like family, where everyone can grow, connect and be heard.
